HOLLONGI | Apr 20 | The Head Quarter Company beat the C- Company by 3-1 goals in the 12th Bn NDRF Inter Company Football tournament 2018, which was held here on Friday at their permanent camp at Hollongi of Balijan Circle under Papum Pare district.
The newly raised, Bn, which is presently deployed at Doimukh temporally is being shifted to its permanent site Hollongi besides its routine duties for rescue operations.
The battalion had organized the tournament from April 17 to 20 last.
Such events are being organised to promote games and sports amongst force personnel. Before onset of the monsoon, the NDRF teams would be deployed in flood prone areas like Demaji, Jorhat, Sibsagar, Sadiya, Namsai and in some districts of Nagaland and Manipur.
“Our team will participate in all India inter NDRF Bns. Despite being newly established, the battalion team won winner trophy in all India NDRF Bn football tournament which was held at 8th Bn NDRF Gaziabad last year,” an officer added.
In the tournament Dr K L Rongmei, Comd (Med), Dr Abir Choudhary, Dy Comdt ( Med), PN Singh, Dy Comdt. Pananab Daimari Dy. Comdt, I Somorendro Singh, Asstt Comdt and SOs and Jawans witness the tournament.
Later on Dr GM Sharma distributed the trophy to the winners, champion and best players while T Sunder lifted the best player trophy by scoring 7 goals in tournament.
The tournament was formally opened by Dr GM Sharma, Comd (Med) on April 17 last.
A total of seven companies participated in the tournament.
